Yesterday Minister of Police, Fikile Mbalula, warned the black consciousness organisation, Black First Land First (BLF), that unless they stop protesting against white journalists, they will be suffocated by the police. Furthermore, should they protest at his home, he will “finish” them. He then warned of police brutality. “Police have a clear response, suffocate these people”, he instructed.
This threat by Minister Mbalula follows the protest action of BLF last Thursday when they picketed the white journalist Peter Bruce for publishing fake news about blacks like President Zuma and BLF President Andile Mngxitama while covering up the corruption and other criminal offences of white monopoly capital.
BLF referred to the threats of the Minister as “clownish comments “. It accused the him of giving false hope to racist white journalists. “There is no force on earth that can protect racists against the righteous anger of the people”, the movement said.
Mbalula’s “jokes” were regarded as a distraction from the “racism and massive corruption cover-up by white monopoly capital” that BLF was unveiling.
White journalists were warned to end their racism, by heeding the call of BLF “or face fresh and vigorous 24/7 protest action”.
BO is republishing the above mentioned BLF statement below which previously appeared on their website:
Black First Land First (BLF) notes the misguided clownish comments by the so called Minister of Police, Fikile Mbalula, about “suffocating” people. Minister Mbalula is giving racist journalists false hope. There is no force on earth that can protect racists against the righteous anger of the people. BLF believes that Minister Mbalula’s jokes are a distraction from something serious we are busy with currently. This is not netball that we are we dealing with. We are busy with exposing racism and massive corruption cover-up by white monopoly capital.
BLF has maintained its position that it supports freedom of expression and freedom of the media but we shall not tolerate any acts of racism being committed under the pretext of practicing journalism. BLF is also clear that any cover-up of white monopoly capital corruption would be fought. The right to protest is a fundamental right enshrined in the Constitution. This is not a police state.
Our advice to the white journalists who have been cautioned to stop racism, is that they must observe the warning given to them by BLF or face fresh and vigorous 24/7 protest action. We shall suffocate them with protest. This is not a joke! Issued by the National Coordinating Committee of Black First Land First (BLF NCC)
