BLF-North West in solidarity with farm workers in their arbitration case

The following article was previously published on 31 October 2017 on the BLF website and is reissued by BO.

Black First Land First (BLF) North West stands in solidarity with the 133 black farm workers who will be represented in a CCMA arbitration case that will take place today (31 October 2017) in Potchefstroom.

The case follows an unlawful dismissal of the farm workers at the Doornplaat farm in Ventersdorp, North West, on the 1st of September 2017. The farm workers were under the employment of Masilo Outsourcing, a black employment broking company providing services to Nicklaus Coetzee farms.

It is the understanding of BLF that the workers were not given due notices or undergone any disciplinary hearings prior to their dismissals, and are still owed unpaid wages.

BLF condemns all acts of abuse and exploitation on black farm workers by whites.
