‘Zimbabwe must defend the revolution’ – BLF

By BO Staff Writer

Conflicting reports have been coming out of Zimbabwe regarding a possible coup by military veterans within President Robert Mugabe’s ruling party, ZANU-PF. The veterans are said to be disgruntled at the sacking of former Deputy President Emmerson Mnangagwa by Mugabe last week for allegedly plotting against the party. Agents of imperialism have long waited for any form of instability in Zimbabwe, where the people rightfully took land by force from settlers, to happen. The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), which has openly sided with imperialism and has met imperialist warlord Lord Robin Renwick, is celebrating the instability of the revolutionary country of Zimbabwe.

In midst of all the noise and confusion around the events happening in Zimbabwe, the Black First Land First (BLF) has released a politically clear statement, calling for the continued support of the Zimbabwean revolution and President Robert Mugabe. Read the full statement below:

Black First Land First (BLF) stands with the Zimbabwean revolution as led by President Robert Mugabe. Developments in Zimbabwe have the running dogs of imperialism gloating and making offers of asylum to the President of Zimbabwe. We know that British imperialism, as represented by Lord Robin Renwick, hopes that with an ousting of President Mugabe from office, it will allow for the restoration of British imperialism in that country.

BLF rejects any imperialist interference in Zimbabwe. Furthermore, BLF doesn’t believe political differences should be settled by calling the army from the barracks. This sets a bad precedence. However, BLF recognises that social circumstances have developed in Zimbabwe. The revolution had stagnated and was suffocated by imperialism. There was an internal, unresolved impasse within the ruling party.

Zanu-PF under the leadership of President Mugabe has shown unprecedented revolutionary resolve in Southern Africa. Zimbabwe remains the only liberated country in the SADC region. BLF hopes that irrespective of how the revolutionary impasse is resolved, there shall be no colonial restoration in Zimbabwe. Land thieves and agents of Robin Renwick are celebrating prematurely. The revolution in Zimbabwe is irreversible.

BLF takes comfort in the knowledge that the crisis in Zimbabwe at this juncture is an internal Zimbabwean affair. That’s how it should be kept. Zimbabwe must never be a colony again. Robin Renwick is salivating to take over Zimbabwe – it’s not going to happen.

South Africa should take great inspiration from the land chimurenga and the resilience of the Zimbabwean people. The imperialist onslaught has been too long. We hope whites will leave Zimbabwe alone now, so that a new reconstruction crafted by the patriotic Zimbabwean people can be realized.

Only agents of imperialism are gloating and offering President Mugabe treacherous offers of exile. President Mugabe is the founding father of Zimbabwe and an African patriot. BLF has nothing but admiration and respect for President Mugabe.
