The EFF chief whip in JB Marks Municipality who allegedly wants to be paid R3 million

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) of Julius Malema seem to have standardized selling votes in hung municipalities for cash. A voice note has emerged that is allegedly a conversation between the EFF chief whip in the JB Marks Local Municipality and a fellow councillor discussing an exchange of R3 million corruption money to pass the municipality budget. The EFF doesn’t care which party‘s program or what program is being put on the table. All it wants is money. The flashy lifestyle of Malema sponsored by corruption is now the culture of the party, up to local government level.
In the voice clip the said chief whip is allegedly heard saying that the EFF won’t cooperate unless the R3 million is paid. He adds that the battle is not theirs; it‘s ostensibly a battle between the Democratic Party (DA) and African National Congress (ANC); and “[t]hey (EFF) opt to benefit both sides”, provided there is payment. There is also a reference made to a R5 million agreement in the voice clip suggesting that the R3 million is upfront payment.
Many in the JB Marks Municipality are asking whether the councillors are acting on their own or have they been mandated by Malema to demand money for votes.
The EFF has become as corrupt as the ANC. Votes are not used to push service delivery. They are used for self enrichment. This explains why there is no service delivery for the poor.
